Wikimedia Hackathon 2016/FAQ

From mediawiki.org

General information about Wikimedia Hackathon is available here: [1]

  • How do I get to Jerusalem?

You book a flight to Tel Aviv. Your flight will land at Ben Gurion international airport, which lies on the main road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Taking a share taxi (monít sherút) is the best way to reach Jerusalem from the airport.

  • Do I need to pay for participation?

No, participating in The Hackathon is totally free, and includes food, merchandise and fun! However, registration requires approval from the Hackathon team. Please register as soon as possible.

  • When will I know if my attendance was approved?

During the first week of February 2016.

  • What should I bring?

A laptop and a charger. We will take care of the rest.

  • Do you provide accommodations?

We have booked a reasonable number of rooms at a local hostel, which will be available for participants for free. However we probably won’t be able to accommodate all participants. When registering, please state that you need accommodations, and we will do the best we can to have a bed for you.
