Subject: Wikimedia Developer Summit 2017: Unconference, Get Stuff Done Day,  Pre-summit Meetup and more!

Hello Wikimedia Developer Summit 2017 Participants,

The Wikimedia Developer Summit is 2.5 weeks away!

As promised, here is the second informational email about the Unconference, Get Stuff Done Day, Pre-summit Meetup, TPG Clinic, and more!

Pre-summit Meetup: Shape your idea and project team for the third day

Join us for the pre-summit meetup via Unhangout on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at 10 am PST. The goal of this event is for fellow attendees to meet, discuss project ideas for the third day, develop teams, and ask organizers any questions they might have about the summit. Sign up and learn how to participate.

Tell your friends about remote participation

Some selected sessions from January 9th and 10th will be live-streamed and available for later viewing. Tell your friends and colleagues to sign-up to receive updates on how to participate remotely.

Contribute to the Unconference agenda

Between now and the summit, here is what you could do to help: express your interest in attending a session or leading one that you initially proposed. Instructions are here.

Get Stuff Done Day (third day)

Get Stuff Done Day is for members of the community to meet with each other, discuss any topics relevant to their interests, and hack and collaborate on projects. Most importantly, make progress on discussions and projects that emerged from Day 1 and 2. If you already have a project idea in mind, document it on Phabricator and import it to the ‘Get Stuff Done Day’ section on the Wikimedia Developer Summit Workboard.

Team Practices Group Clinic

TPG will be offering 15-minute consultations on team practices and collaboration topics of your choosing; for example: task tracking, improving communication between or within teams, or communicating with geographic diversity.  See TPG_Clinic to sign up or get more information.

Final program schedule is now available here. You will receive a last and final email in January about the event logistics, unconference planning, and social events.

As usual, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us. On behalf of the Developer Summit organizing team, we wish you all a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year :)

Thanks,

Rachel Farrand
