Distributed version-controlled MediaWiki

Regarding [1], you may be interested in this list. Regards, HaeB 17:53, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Extension:Nonlinear, you may be interested in other distributed wiki. --DavidCary (talk) 16:07, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi DavidCary, thanks for the interesting reading. I can't tell if there is working distributed wiki software here, or if these are notes towards such a project. Feel free to share any ideas you have about how to introduce this technology into MediaWiki... Adamw (talk) 18:46, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome. Yes, (links to) working distributed wiki engines are there -- The Hatta wiki engine; the MikMik wiki engine; the Wooki wiki engine; Smallest-Federated-Wiki engine; etc. -- hidden in a haystack of notes. --DavidCary (talk) 03:04, 27 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

DumpHTML

Hey Adam, I've gone ahead and moved DumpHTML to Git. For now, I've just granted it the default rights (so anyone in the mediawiki core group can review). If you find someone to take over review for it who's not in that group, let me know and we'll set them up with a group. ^demon (talk) 16:32, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

donations

Dear Adamw,

I would like to read the "reasons why relying on large donations might be harmful to your health" mentioned on your user page.

Alas, when I click on the nearby link, I'm taken to a page that does not include the words "funded", "reasons", "donations", etc. I suspect a recent re-organization of that website moved that page to some other URL.

If you ever find the new location, could you update the link? Thank you. --DavidCary (talk) 17:44, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing out the broken link! I've updated the URL, hopefully you find the book interesting. Adamw (talk) 18:47, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Edit conflict issues

I really love the work you're doing at phabricator:T58849, and surely many others do as well. If you manage to fix this bug, it's probably going to be the single most important MediaWiki change this year! Just saying in case the implicit praise around this work didn't reach you. :) --Nemo 08:32, 8 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Nemo bis: Likewise, and thank you for stirring so many pots as well! The explicit encouragement is well taken--you might have noticed that I'm slogging along very slowly on T58849, as I'm sure you appreciate, it's hard to find time for things that aren't a part of my job ;)
Unfortunately, there's no easy way to measure how often this race condition has been triggered because the resulting edit conflict is unreported, so I can't say for sure whether this fix is important or not. --Adamw (talk) 07:53, 9 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
