For information on general Wikimedia Terms of Use.

1. Static Maps Static maps are embedded as part of an article page - they are simply an image without zoom/pan controls or any other interactivity. Static maps can be used within the guidelines set forth here.

2. Dynamic Maps Dynamic maps are interactive and are displayed once a user clicks on a static image embedded in an article or after clicking on the WMF maps link in Commons (in the camera location section) such as this example image and associated map.

Where does the map data come from?

[edit]

The maps shown on Wikipedia, Wikivoyage and other Wikimedia projects use data from OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap® is open data, licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) by the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

Do you see something on the map that needs editing? Log into OpenStreetMap to fix it and help make the map better for everyone! :)
