이 틀은 정책, 수필, 지침 문서 최상단에 간결한 요약을 보여줍니다. 제목과 다른 정보상자 아래, 본문의 첫 문단 위에 위치합니다.

• 요약을 사용하여 새 사용자들에게 미디어위키 및 MediaWiki.org의 방문을 친숙하게 만드십시오.
• 요약 항목은 의미 전달력이 높은 단어 몇 개가 포함된 간결한 개요여야 합니다.

• Make sure each word in the nutshell carries significant weight, "make every word tell".

• Wikilink to other pages to create a "nut trail" of pages with nutshells.
