Overall success rate

[edit]

At an opt-in wiki, the users of the visual editor aren't comparable to the users of the wikitext editor. Therefore, the comparison in the last paragraph is probably not useful for any serious purpose. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 01:38, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

It's there precisely to illustrate how significant is the impact of user group selection on these numbers. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 21:26, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Bounce and bail reasons

[edit]

I "bounce" and "bail" out of both editors multiple times a day, so let me add a few more reasons why that happens:

  • clicked the wrong edit tab (e.g., tabs shifted when some Javascript finally loaded)
  • wanted to copy something (usually wikitext)
  • wanted to see what the wikitext was or how a reported problem actually appears in the visual editor
  • wanted to test an action and see the diff
  • started writing, but then decided my change was a bad idea

I'm sure that others can think of more. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 01:44, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

James, is this data for the mainspace only? Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 01:44, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

It covers all edits. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 21:26, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
