Sfrac template renders slash and horizontal line in mobile view
[edit]In the article section en:Hoare logic#Conditional rule, I used the "sfrac" template to create a natural deduction-style rule (consisting of a horizontal line, some formulas above it, and some below it). The rendering looks fine in the desktop view. However, in the mobile view, an additional "/" is shown immediately above the horizontal line. I guess the "/" is shown due to a programming error in the template code, but I don't have a clue how the template code works. After placing a ((help me)) request on my talk page, User:Gryllida suggested to repeat my question here. (Clicking on your above "Bugzilla" link resulted in an error message "The requested URL /enter_bug.cgi?product=MediaWiki_extensions&component=MobileFrontend was not found on this server.") Many thanks in advance. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 20:00, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
This is how sfrac looks like in desktop view (it is ok):
{B ∧ P} S {Q} , {¬B ∧ P } T {Q} -------------------------------------- {P} if B then S else T endif {Q}
This is how sfrac looks like in mobile view (the "/" should not be there):
{B ∧ P} S {Q} , {¬B ∧ P } T {Q} / -------------------------------------- {P} if B then S else T endif {Q}
Thanks for the feedback! What seems to be happening is a rule in MediaWiki:Common.css is present on mobile. I'm not sure what the purpose of the .visualhide class is but the character is actually in the content - just not rendered. Adding a nomobile class to the template that prints that would rectify this problem. Jdlrobson (talk) 23:21, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Could you (or another expert) please add that class? I'm unable to do that, as I don't understand the markup language sufficiently well. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 09:28, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Feature Requests
[edit]Categories
[edit]Could categories not be displayed on the mobile version of a page? They are, generally, useful to browse. -- Mentifisto 04:13, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- I second that. Bennylin (talk) 16:24, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
A feature for this is current available in the alpha mode of the site
- I think this feature has to be added as default, that means to accelerate the development stage. --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 01:02, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Hackable js
[edit]Can I personalize my experience through custom js? Especially useful to add some useful external link for the articles I'm reading. Bennylin (talk) 16:24, 13 September 2013 (UTC) Not at the moment but feel free to submit a patch or raise an enhancement request. Jdlrobson (talk) 23:23, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Talk pages
[edit]Talk pages! I want to read long talk pages on mobile, because reading on mobile usually means I have some time to kill! :) -- Phoebe (talk) 20:44, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
please. Talk PAGES. Gryllida 12:38, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Message boxes
[edit]During navigation message boxes are not shown. I think this is a very important information. On the other hand, this messages can be too much invasive for mobile, so I suggest to show just an icon (e.g. a triangle with an exclamation mark inside); clicking this icon, the message appears. --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 01:02, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
