Explode string

[edit]

Wouldn't it be easier to have the explode on a newline character \n and just put each bit of text on its own line? Or, for those with longer quotes I suppose a double newline \n\n would work. I also suppose I could just customize this bit of code for myself. Cheers - James 24.247.4.3 06:22, 15 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images

[edit]

I've used the script for showing random images with fairly good success.

Brilliant

[edit]

I have been trying to add some random latin and greek phrases to an educational wiki running as an intranet and this is fantastic! Thanks. --135.196.19.50 10:41, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Random chooser extension

[edit]

It suprises me that the random chooser extension isn't listed on MediaWiki. I think it is better for this purpose. It changes the text on every page visit - the games wikia uses it to play rock-paper-scissors.

Working with version 1.8.2

[edit]

I'd like to thank you for this extension and report that it is working with MediaWiki 1.8.2.

1.12

[edit]

Just tried installing this on a 1.12 and everything crashed, with unexpected '{' in extensions/ParserFunctions/ParserFunctions.php, more errors in other extensions after commenting that out, and after a reinstall of ParserFunctions, the same error. Not absolutely certain yet that random.php is to blame, but it may be worth noting. -- Sasoriza 21:55, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

1.17

[edit]

Just tried to make it work with MW 1.17. There seem to be no side effects, but, on the down side, it doesn't do anything but hide the contents of <random>. Anybody made it work with MW 1.17? --87.178.106.31 09:05, 13 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
