Does anyone know if there are any existing libraries that wrap the PageTriage API?

Novem Linguae (talkcontribs)

I don't know of any. What are you trying to do?

Do Templates show up on pages after they have certain tags and why are the Templates red?

Hello,

Whenever I review a page and add tags to the page. Templates show up on the page after. Why do they show up on the page? could they just be moved to the bottom of the page or to the pages discussion page?

Also why are the templates links red? I thought all the templates came with the extension. How can I get the templates so the links are no longer red?

Thank you!

Novem Linguae (talkcontribs)

Howdy. Can you please provide a diff (link to example)? Thanks.

Hello,

I am not able to share a link, but the pages look like this. Where the template links are red, and they are on the middle of the page. Hopefully this is enough to help.

Note: *The red links just have the template name in them, and not the actual line.

Template:Multiple issues

hi

Template:Stub

Novem Linguae (talkcontribs)

So when you place maintenance tags or deletion tags, PageTriage just adds a template to the page, such as {{Template:Stub}}. Easy: You should probably edit Template:Stub on your wiki to have the code you want. Difficult: You could also copy the Template:Stub code from enwiki. Difficult: You could try to get Special:Import working for enwiki and import a bunch of the templates. Difficult: You could edit MediaWiki:PageTriageExternalTagsOptions.js and MediaWiki:PageTriageExternalDeletionTagsOptions.js to tweak exactly what tags PageTriage uses. Hope this helps.

Hi @Shirayuki. In regards to this diff, is there any reason this shouldn't be | phabricator = PageTriage? According to this page, #PageTriage is the official tag name on Phabricator. It was renamed a couple weeks ago. Thanks.

With the new value, "Report a bug" link was broken on July 24. Now it works.

Can Page Triage be adjusted to work with older recently changed pages?

216.123.208.21 (talkcontribs)

Hello,

I was wondering if Page Triage could be adjusted to look at old pages that have recently been changed on the wiki. As it doesn't look at any old pages that existed before the installation of the extension.

If someone could let me know, that would be great thank you!

Fresh install, missing templates and images

Realsalt (talkcontribs)

Just installed, but no reference to obtaining the missing images/templates that don't come standard with Mediawiki.

Looks like I'm not the first to ask about this, but no one has asked in a while/received a good answer. Let me know if I should be raising this problem elsewhere.

I like the extension, just need some more guidance on importing.

Is there a explanation of each element of the format that you need to follow when adding tags (as seen on en:MediaWiki:PageTriageExternalTagsOptions.js)? We have added Extension:PageTriage to an enterprise wiki and would like to make better use of it. Since we did not have the vast majority of templates that Wikipedia has at it's disposal, we reduced the list down to just the stub template. Thank you for any help that you can provide! @Kaldari @Bsitu @Jorm (WMF)

Help page for NewPagesFeed

Hi Danny, good point that the help link is missing. However the software currently only works at Enwiki, so I suggest that we just write a task to add one of those standard "Help" links to the top-right corner of the UI, which can then point to the existing docs at w:Wikipedia:Page Curation/Help. I wouldn't want to waste the time of translators (by making docs over here) if other communities can't use the feature. I hope that makes sense! I've filed it as phab:T224816 - patches welcome if you know how that all works!

DannyS712 (talkcontribs)

They can use the feature, they just don't within the wikimedia cluster... what about the software makes it only work on enwiki? And yes, I am a bit familiar with how adding documentation links works - see phab:T224793

Quiddity (WMF) (talkcontribs)

Hi. I'm basing that comment on the second paragraph in Extension:PageTriage, and the long discussions elsewhere (with phab:T50552 being just the latest). :-(

Re: knowing how to add them, oh! excellent! maybe you have some advice for phab:T220147#5190275? :-)

DannyS712 (talkcontribs)

Well, we could add a "see also" link to enwiki, but in the interest of making the extension more wiki-agnostic I personally think a page here would be better

Quiddity (WMF) (talkcontribs)

I believe the standard Help link indicators do usually point to this wiki by default, but they're contained in normal interface strings so local wikis can override them - I guess T224816 could best be solved by making the default link point to a very short page here (perhaps the page you're drafting), and then change the Enwiki link to point locally.

(For example, see how they've done it at w:en:MediaWiki:Search-helppage which changes the link in search results. However this is also a bad habit in some cases, because it can lead to badly-forked/outdated local docs :-( This example being a case-in-point, because I personally always want the more detailed info at Help:CirrusSearch on this wiki! >.<)

But to briefly repeat myself, my main concern is wasting any time of translators, so just don't write any extensive docs here (yet!), but a short page is probably good. HTH!

Unpatrolled pages aren't shown in Special:NewPagesFeed

@DSwissK since there's a phabricator task in T204442, let's continue the discussion there OK?

DSwissK (talkcontribs)

Hello @Mattflaschen-WMF !

I've run into a new problem : the unpatrolled/unreviewed pages aren't shown in Special:NewPagesFeed

Oddly, if I review it (without the curation tool, by clicking on "mark this page as patrolled") and then unreview it (with the curation tool), the page magically appears in the https://dicoado.org/dico/Sp%C3%A9cial:NewPagesFeed

Any idea how to solve this ? Thanks !
