I would like to list myself as this extension's new maintainer. I'm the one who edited the page with the fix for the new $messages format, and I wouldn't mind keeping this current, as I am the server administrator for Zelda Wiki and will know when it requires updating because I am striving to keep us updated to the most current version of MediaWiki after having to spend several days applying updates and fixes from our upgrade from 1.17 to 1.21. What must I do to label myself as such? I use this site often, but I've never really edited it.

I guess it is just a matter of adding yourself to the info box and removing the label unmaintained. You may probably ask the owner of the current repository at Sourceforge for access to be able to use it, however you could also switch to another location.
