Translate the Figures extension if it is available at translatewiki.net

The Figures extension allows to define figures and refer them elsewhere in the wiki. Figures can be images, tables or other kinds of media.

It is also a dependency for the DocBookExport extension.

Installation

• Download and move the extracted Figures folder to your extensions/ directory.
  Developers and code contributors should install the extension from Git instead, using:cd extensions/
git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/mediawiki/extensions/Figures
• Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:

  wfLoadExtension( 'Figures' );
  

•  Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.

Usage

To create a figure define it using the figure parser function. See examples below:

{{#figure: |label=Figure 1.2 |content=[[File:wiki.png]] }}

To refer to the figure elsewhere in the wiki use:

{{#xref: |page=Main Page |label=Figure 1.2 }}

The xref parser function will create an anchor tag which takes you to the figure on clicking.
