I note in the most recent "monthly update"Article feedback/status#2011-09-30 that it states "Howie Fung assessed proposals from vendors in response to the RfP to build an extended review system". In the RFP it states that the contract will start on "September 1, at the latest"wmf:RFP/Article Feedback Feature. Does this mean that the RFP has been awarded already and work is underway (as per the original schedule) or that the RFP is delayed?
On a separate point... As has been mentioned by many (in this place and elsewhere) the current state of the Article Feedback Tool) can be charitably said to be of limited utility in providing actionable feedback for the existing community. Instead, it seems the primary purpose of the tool is to encourage new users to participate (a perfectly worthy goal), and that asking for feedback is merely just a hook. Will the extended version of the tool focus more on providing useful information to improve content, or will it be entirely focused on converting readers to users (not that these are opposed goals, but they are indeed different).
